ABOUT TRCC

Providing outstanding music education opportunities for 31 years

The award winning Tar River Children's Chorus is an ensemble of the Tar River Orchestra & Chorus. Children from 4th-12th grade participate in weekly rehearsals where they learn techniques of singing and music reading. The rehearsals culminate with concerts throughout the school year.

The TRCC is conducted by Patsy Gilliland who has been the conductor for 30 years. Mrs. Gilliland has a love for music and for children and has led the group with excellence for many years.

The TRCC meets for weekly rehearsals on Thursday evenings at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Rocky Mount. Students pay tuition to participate much like they would to take dance or piano lessons. Limited scholarships are available for families with financial hardships.
